Mian Shaid Hussain Bhatti (born 1956) is a Pakistani politician from Jalalpur Bhattian, Pindi Bhattian Tehsil.

Early life and education

He was born in 1956 in Jalalpur Bhattian a city of Pindi Bhattian Tehsil. His father's name was Mian Asghar Ali Khan Bhatti who was well known for his land owning because he owned a big part of the land of the area, his grandfather's name was Mian Murad Bakhsh Bhatti who was a very well known politician of the Punjab province in Pakistan he remained Mayor of the Gujranwala District twice. He graduated in B.A from Islamia University, Bahawalpur. He is a professional agriculturist. Political career

He started his political career for the first time in 1985 elections of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in the constituency of PP-107 Hafizabad-III.He contested in many elections In 2008 elections he ran for the National Assembly (Pakistan) for the first time against Liaqat Abbas Bhatti but he lost the election by a very short margin, Shahid Hussain Bhatti then ran for the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in the 2008 by-elections and succeeded. Therefore he got Provincial Assembly seat of PP-107 and he served as the member of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 2008-2012. In 2010 he was made the chairman of the Planning and Development Authority of the Gujranwala Division which he remained for two years from 2010-2012. In the 2013 General Elections of Pakistan in the constituency of NA-103 of the National Assembly (Pakistan) once again Shahid Hussain Bhatti and Liaqat Abbas Bhatti stood against each other this time the election results which came out in the final counting were incomplete so the Election Commission of Pakistan announced a re election and a legal notice from the Supreme Court of Pakistan was summoned to both of the candidates in the case of misconduct where after a couple of hearings Liaqat Abbas Bhatti was found guilty and was halted from contesting the re election which was ordered by the Election Commission of Pakistan while Shahid Hussain Bhatti got a clean chit, the re election took place in August 2013 in which Shahid Hussain Bhatti won by large majority. Shahid hussain bhatti has remained chairman of the local bodies for 10 consecutive years and his grand father Mian Murad Bakhsh Khan Bhatti remained chairman District Board Gujranwala twice, which tells that he is a strong political figure of the area. Jackson Graham (1915-March 2, 1985) was a Major General of the Army Corps of Engineers in the United States Army and was the first General Manager for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).

Early life and education

He was born in Mosier, Oregon and during High School he joined his father, a bridge construction foreman on the construction of the main piers of the Golden Gate Bridge as well as several other projects. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University in 1936. He was Student Body President at OSU during his Senior Year and served in the Reserve Officers Training Corps. Military service

Finishing in the top 3 percent on an army exam, he won a regular army engineering commission. He served with two combat engineer units in the European Theater during World War II and commanded three heavy pontoon battalions at Remagen. He gained the temporary rank of Colonel just days before V-E day. During the Korean War, he commanded two engineer aviation groups. In the early 1950s, he served as the Corps of Engineers' chief of personnel. Later in his career he was district engineer in Portland and then in 1963 as a Brigadier General he became commander of the Ohio River Division, in charge of all civil and military construction for 14 states. He became a Major General in 1966 and was posted to Director of Civil Works. However, also in 1966, he underwent open-heart surgery to replace his Aortic Valve and retired in 1967 from the army with full disability. WMATA General Manager

Jackson and his wife, Mabel Lee were planning a retirement in the motor home when approached by WMATA Chairman Walter Tobriner and NCTA Administrator Walter McCarter about taking the position of General Manager. Accepting after repeated pleas and after satisfying himself that the subway was going to be built, he accepted and was sworn in on March 17, 1967. He retired in late 1975.
